From compulsory documents to administrative formalities, we support you at every step so you can start your career in the Netherlands safely. Keep in mind: how quickly you can start depends largely on how fast you provide all the documentation to the IJC team.
EU ID card or passport
A valid, physical ID card or passport. As an EU citizen this document allows you to live and work legally in the Netherlands. No work or residence permit applies.
BSN number
The BSN (Burgerservicenummer) is essential. Without this tax identification number you cannot sign a contract, open a bank account or access public healthcare.
Dutch bank account
Needed to receive your salary and to pay rent or insurance. International digital banks such as Revolut can be used as well.
Dutch health insurance
Every resident must take out compulsory health insurance. This is one of the requirements you must meet from your first working day.
Additional certificates
Some jobs ask for a certificate of conduct, a valid driving licence or accredited technical training. We tell you what applies to your vacancy.
Language and adaptation
Although it is not a legal requirement, a communicative level of English makes your integration a lot easier. We offer guidance so you meet every requirement with confidence.
